Cllr Leanda Newlyn

I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as the County Councillor for Bishop’s Stortford Rural. I work with the council, the local party and the local people to shape our county. I campaign on your behalf on many key issues and put my skills and experience to best use wherever required.

I am member of: Children’s Services & Corporate Parenting; Community Safety & Culture; The Adoption Panel; Carer’s Forum and the Casework, Appointments and Appeals Committee. In Topic Groups I am a permanent member of Review of Recommendations and have chaired Recruitment & Retention of Social Workers and sat on Post and Document Management Services. I am also the sub for the Stansted Airport Consultative Committee; and the County appointed Governor at St. Elizabeth’s School in Much Hadham (ICT nominated governor).

I am also a director of a national photo-services company and a Governor at Thorley Hill Primary School (Vice-Chair Curriculum & Pupil Welfare and nominated governor for Child Protection, Children Looked After and ICT). My husband has his own company in Bishop’s Stortford, and our daughter is at primary school.
